Academic Bio

Dr. Lisa Lillie is an assistant professor of history and director of the history program at Maryville University in St. Louis, where she also serves as the director of the pre-law program. She leads Maryville’s study abroad program in Florence, Italy. Dr. Lillie has conducted extensive archival research in Italy, France, and England, with appointments at the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris and the Museo Galileo in Florence. She is currently conducting research on commerce and piracy in the early modern Mediterranean.
