Serving those who serve us all.

You’ve got a history of brave service to our nation. Now, you can apply that spirit to your future with Maryville.

If you’re ready to pursue your education and take advantage of your military experience, you’re not alone. More than 1 million veterans are using benefits like the Post-9/11 GI Bill to earn their degree and prepare for their future.

At Maryville University, we proudly support the men and women who serve our country.

In fact, we were named to the 2023-24 Military Friendly® Schools list. Since 2003, the Military Friendly® Schools list represents the standard for higher education institutions that provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. Our goal is to provide you the perfect opportunity to utilize your military benefits to earn a valuable college degree in a supportive environment.

We serve active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, guardsmen, retirees, and dependents to help them complete their higher education journey. To demonstrate this dedication, we proudly maintain memberships with resources like GoArmyEd and Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), and we partner with the American Council on Education (ACE) to evaluate courses completed throughout your military career and turn them into college credit.

In addition, we participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program — designed to help cover up to 100 percent of students’ out-of-pocket tuition and fees that may exceed the Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition benefits.

Ready to apply for your VA benefits?

For assistance applying for your VA benefits, you can contact the Veterans Benefits Administration office directly at 1-888-442-4551, or visit www.ebenefits.va.gov. All forms can be found online at www.va.gov/vaforms.

If you are an active-duty service member, you can get started on your application process by contacting your VA branch’s Education Service Officer (ESO).

Supporting you in every way.

At Maryville University, we take great pride in making sure military personnel, military spouses, dependents, and veterans receive everything they need to complete their educational journey successfully. That starts with the personalized support of our enrollment advisors and dedicated veteran services specialists to help you navigate the benefits provided under the Department of Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance Programs.

Once enrolled as a student, you’ll also have access to a closed-loop message board, where current Maryville student-veterans can come to ask questions and discuss issues.

Getting the credit you deserve.

It’s important that you receive credit for all the work you completed while serving our country. Maryville’s partnership with the American Council on Education (ACE) allows us to evaluate your military courses and transfer them for college credits (up to 30 credits). Community College of the Air Force students also have the opportunity to have their courses evaluated for equivalent college credit.

Spouses sacrifice, too.

Married military personnel will be pleased to know the Department of Defense sponsors a program that provides financial assistance to military spouses. It’s called My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA). Eligible individuals include:

  • Spouses of active-duty service members
  • Spouses of activated reservists and activated guardsmen
  • Spouses of service members who were injured, rendered ill, wounded, or killed in action (KIA)
  • Spouses of prisoners of war (POW) or service members missing in action (MIA)

Call a program representative at 800-983-6484 or visit the My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program website to learn more about how MyCAA can work for you.

You’ve got backup.

When you enroll as a military student at Maryville, you can expect to receive student-focused assistance in the areas of financial aid, VA benefits, academic support, disability services, and employment assistance.

Maryville also has a Veterans Student Organization (VSO). This committed group of individuals — which is composed of and operated by veteran students — provides feedback to program instructors and makes recommendations to enhance the curricula and training for veteran professionals.

These are just a few of the ways in which we help provide the best possible educational experience for members of our military and their families.

Take your next step.
