Curriculum

Maryville’s online Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management coursework covers management, human resources, communication, information systems, and more. Complete a practicum and capstone course to help you advance your skills and prepare to succeed in your desired field.

Our online healthcare management program comprises 128 credit hours, including a total of 42 major degree credits in addition to your general education requirements. As you earn your degree, you can also choose to pursue a certificate in senior living management (18 credit hours) that explores challenges and issues facing the aging population and senior care.

With more than 30 years of experience leading in healthcare, Karen Schechter steers the healthcare management degree online with inside knowledge of today’s health systems.

Professor Schechter understands the shifting needs of the ever-changing healthcare industry. She has served as director of healthcare services for 14 years and provided healthcare management consulting services as an entrepreneur for close to 30 years. She knows what success requires, and she shares those insights as an educator at Maryville University.

Today she leads our online BS in Healthcare Management program with deep knowledge of key areas such as strategic planning, practice startups, process improvement, compliance, revenue cycles, and more. Students in our healthcare management degree online program can benefit from her mentorship.
