SXSW EDU 2022 is one of the most influential conferences for educational thought leadership and innovation. Maryville University President Dr. Mark Lombardi is in the running to host a panel at this prestigious event. Now you can help decide if he gets the opportunity.

PanelPicker voting for SXSW 2022 is underway, and we need your help. We’re excited to have Dr. Lombardi lead our panel discussion, and your vote can help him shine a spotlight on the future of personalized learning.

In his discussion, titled “Is College Worth It? A University President’s Take on How to Close the Student Dissatisfaction Gap,” Dr. Lombardi will address ways to reshape the traditional higher education system as we navigate modern challenges like the coronavirus pandemic.

Using technology, Dr. Lombardi believes we can take a future-focused approach that empowers students to learn where and how they prefer to learn. By taking more cues from industry startups and tech companies than from the Ivy League and academia, Dr. Lombardi also shows how we can streamline the administrative process using tech like AI and blockchain. This “New University” model can help create a stronger student community that redefines the return on investment for higher education.

Community voting runs from now through Thursday, Aug. 26, so make sure to let your voice be heard. It’s easy:

  1. Create an account with SXSW (it only takes a minute or two)
  2. Confirm your registration using the link emailed to your inbox
  3. Log in, and navigate to the “Closing the Student Dissatisfaction Gap” panel page
  4. On the left-hand side bar, click “Vote Up”

If you already have an account, simply head over to https://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/114061 to upvote there. And remember: Every vote counts, so be sure to share the link with friends, family, and colleagues.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you March 7-10, 2022, at SXSW EDU.
