What does our online MBA with a concentration in Information Technology cover?

Getting your online information technology master’s degree is about you getting ready to compete and succeed in the world of business and information technology. And that’s exactly what our MBA in Information Technology curriculum is designed to help you do. Key courses include:

  • Information Technology Management. This course presents the concepts needed to manage information technology resources. It specifically focuses on the role of a chief information officer; planning, scheduling, and risk considerations; and the strategic role of information technology systems in an organization.
  • Agile Analysis and Design. Previous system analysis and design methodologies are being replaced with iterative approaches such as agile. This approach leads to faster product deployment at a lower cost, with less rework due to missed requirements. This course reviews the development of requirements, analysis, and design in an agile environment — and helps enhance critical thinking skills.
  • Database Principles. This course examines the design, development, and management of relational databases, and the integration of these databases with applications across the enterprise. Topics covered include database tools, basic structured query language, design, middleware, databases, server architecture, web technologies, and security considerations, among others.
  • Data Analytics. This course serves as an introduction to data analytics — the use of data, quantitative analysis, and modeling to drive business decisions. It also covers specific data mining techniques to illustrate business decision-making.
