What’s the market outlook for registered nurses with a BSN?
Today, more nurses see patients in a variety of settings, beyond hospitals to private offices, businesses, and homes. This includes a growing elderly population, who rely on nurses as teachers and rehabilitators. In addition, more individuals and families are turning to nurses for primary care. Our RN to BSN online program can prepare you to meet these diverse patient needs.
Job growth for registered nurses with their BSN is high, projected to increase by 7% through 2029, which is faster than the national average. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
There’s a greater need for educated nurses, with the Institute of Medicine (IOM) calling for 80% of nurses to hold their BSN by 2020.
The IOM noted a drastic decline in primary care providers, with only 2% of medical students pursuing that career path. Nurses can fill this void.
